read below for more of an explanation...
- Initial consultation with client During an initial consultation, I will discuss the process, answer any questions, and explain what makes good references. The client is encouraged to share information about their pet, such as personality and habits. This is done over the phone a generally takes 10-20 minutes.
- Collecting references Good photo references are important to the outcome of a pet portrait. Therefore, clear visual references should be provided by the client. If those provided do not meet the criteria, I may also require access to your pet in your home, or a mutually agreed location to take reference photos. Please note, that travel will be limited within a 25-mile radius of my studio in Mohnton, PA. The time required for this stage is variable based on the need or availability of in-person meetings with the client and their pet.
- Initial drawing for client approval Based on what is discussed during the consultation, I will draw a sketch, with a focus on general composition rather than details. This is done in greyscale (without color). You can expect to receive the initial sketch within a week of reference collection. This is the stage when a change is possible. The client may request one revision during this stage. The total time this stage takes depends on the nature of the changes to the drawing and response time from the client.
- Painting the Portrait I will send pictures of the painting progress via email or text. Once in the painting process, I may use professional judgment to deviate from the preliminary sketch as I believe in good faith is necessary to create the work.
- Presentation of Artwork to Client I will be happy to deliver artwork to the client within in a 25-mile radius of my studio in Mohnton, PA. Beyond 25 miles, the client has the option to pick up the artwork at my studio themselves or make arrangements to have it shipped to them at their cost. Additionally, the client assumes the cost and responsibility for framing and matting.

- I retain the right to display all commissioned work on any personal website, gallery, or journal.
- The Client may not re-distribute, reproduce, or sell my work for profit.
- The Client may not exhibit my work in any online or physical art gallery without my permission.
